Trip to the Mountains

My mom and dad rented a cabin in Pigeon Forge, TN for themselves, my family, and my brother and his wife. This was our first vacay together, and we had a great time. Thanks mom!!! I am posting some pics here as well as making another album in picasa!

Taking good care of his sister!

Caed is an awesome big brother. He loves Millie and wants to take care of her constantly. He always wants to hold her, help me feed her, make her smile/laugh, etc. There have been a couple of times where he has gotten upset with her- once when she was crying during a “Curious George” episode and once when she was crying loudly in the car. I know that it’s been hard for him to adjust to sharing our attention and affection, but I am so proud of him. He is even teaching her how to eat like a wolfsohn! Adding more pics to the picasa album!

She is 4 months old!

We welcomed Camille “Millie” Ruth into our lives on June 19th. She weighed 9 lbs and measured 21 inches in length. At 2 months old, she weighed 16 lbs and was 24 inched in length. At 3 months, she rolled from her back to her tummy for the first time. Now, she sleeps 12 hours a night, drinks five 7 oz bottles a day, laughs/coos/growls constantly, drools like a mad women, grabs anything she can get her hands on to put in her mouth, and has a smile that will melt your heart. She fits right in around here and it’s hard to remember what life was like without her. Check out pics from each month in our picasa albums.

Long Time, No Blog

Things have been busy around the Wolfsohn household adjusting to the new baby, new “jobs”, etc. My blogging has suffered, but I am jumping back in with both feet. Fall makes me feel so happy and CRAFTY. I thought I would share pics of some of our projects. Check out the picasa album through the link on the left to see the rest of our fall pics.

I hope she likes worms!

I was outside playing with Caed this afternoon, and he found a worm in the driveway. He immediately picked it up and started twirling it around, examining it closely, and putting it back on the driveway to watch it (barely) move. Patrick explained to him how worms needed to stay damp and really liked dirt so they found a place for it in the flower bed. Caed was so excited. As I watched him, my heart swelled with joy over being a mom to a little boy who likes worms. I started several times to come inside and grab the camera but decided instead just to enjoy the moment and log it away in my "happy mommy memories".

I hope she will like worms too!

Not until you eat all of your vegetables.....

So dinner tonight was grilled chicken and grilled vegetables (zucchini, squash, onions) with frozen chocolate covered banana bites for dessert. Caed was famished when we got him home from preschool so I gave him some cheese and a handful of grapes to tide him over while I cooked. I kept his little snack in mind when dinner was ready, and I prepared a plate for him consisting of about 5 bite sized pieces of chicken, a sliced Roma tomato, and 3 spears of grilled squash/zucchini. He ate his chicken and tomatoes and then said he was finished. Patrick being the wonderful dad that he is reminded Caed that we had dessert BUT he couldn't have any until he ATE ALL OF HIS VEGETABLES.....Caed has always been a good eater. He eats most anything, especially when he is hungry. Tonight, however, I knew that wasn't the case. Between the snack and the chicken, those veggies weren't going down easy. Feeling his pain, I cut them up in small pieces and thinking I was helping told him to eat them fast. He ate the first few pieces quickly with no problem, but regret filled my being when I saw him stab 3 pieces of veggies, cram them in his mouth, begin chewing, shudder a bit and reach for his water......Before we could do anything, the veggies made a 2nd appearance. TMI, I know, but at that moment, I felt like a parent. Eat your veggies till you puke kid!!!! :-) Caed is a trooper at withstanding our abuse! After a minute of comforting and reassurance that he had eaten enough veggies to earn a dessert, we were all laughing about it. I'm interested to see what the response will be next time I serve grilled veggies!

A month's worth.....

Yesterday was the perfect snow day.....we slept in, had a brunch consisting of all of our favorite breakfast foods while watching it snow, and then went out to do this!!!

It was all fun and games until someone got hit in the eye- ME!!! I sustained only minor injuries...

Then we came back inside to dry off, thaw out and take naps. Mine was on a bean bag in the bay window in the toy room so
I could see this.....

and watch Noel do this......
Then it was back outside for more fun! We finished the evening off with potato soup, movies, and prayers for a snow day home from school on Monday!!!!
I can't help but think that leaving my snowman wreath up until March brought us some luck :-)
As for the rest of the month....Caed has been a rock star, enjoyed swinging at the neighborhood playground....

and had a wonderful Valentine's day complete with a breakfast of hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts, a homemade heart lovey, and red velvet cupcakes. February was a great month and March is off to a good start!
